Part-Time Accounts Assistant

About the role

This part‑time Accounts Assistant role supports a growing portfolio of property and corporate clients. You will work initially 15–22 hours per week across three days, with the possibility to spread hours over five days as the business expands.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare service charge accounts by collating records from managing agents and self‑managed blocks.
• Allocate expenditure to the correct schedules and cost categories.
• Review work completed by junior staff and issue accurate drafts to clients.
• Produce dormant company accounts using IRIS software.
• Draft service charge accounts in Excel for client review.
• Verify invoices for correct client allocation and suitability.
• Prepare trust tax returns and identify applicable cases across the client base.
• Support client communication and progressively take on direct liaison responsibilities.
• Assist senior staff with portfolio management and contribute to workflow improvements.

Required profile

• Prior experience in an accountancy environment, preferably with service charge accounting.
• Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of work.
• Residency within a 45‑minute commute of Brighton.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to develop client‑facing skills.
