Part-Time Bakery Clerk – Fresh Baked Goods

About the role

Join Metro’s bakery team in London, ON as a part‑time Bakery Clerk. You’ll help keep the bakery department inviting by ensuring fresh, well‑stocked displays and assisting customers with their selections.

Key responsibilities

• Unpack, organize, and stock bakery products, maintaining proper rotation for freshness.
• Create attractive displays for breads, pastries, and specialty items.
• Monitor product quality, remove items that do not meet standards, and ensure accurate labeling and pricing.
• Assist customers, answer inquiries, and provide ingredient or preparation information.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized work area, following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Perform inventory counts, report discrepancies, and update promotional signage.
• Support special promotions, events, and collaborate with other departments as needed.

Required profile

• Prior bakery experience or product knowledge is preferred.
• Customer‑service orientation with strong communication abilities.
• Ability to follow recipes and stand for prolonged periods.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and varied shifts.

Required skills

• Food safety and sanitation knowledge.
• Recipe preparation.
