Part Time Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Part‑Time Bookkeeper to join our finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day‑to‑day finance activities in a dynamic professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are recorded and reconciled.
• Process purchase and sales ledger transactions and prepare general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and other balance‑sheet accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with the preparation of management information, trial balances and month‑end/year‑end close procedures.
• Support payroll processing and maintain related records.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings.
• Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding payments, queries and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records of company assets and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
• Provide ad‑hoc accounting and administrative support to the wider finance team.

Required profile

• Previous bookkeeping experience in a sole‑charge role.
• Good knowledge of VAT and general financial compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational abilities.
• Professional and discreet handling of confidential financial information.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
