Part Time Care Assistant

About the role

Join a Barchester care home as a Part‑Time Care Assistant on the twilight shift (5 pm‑10 pm). You will support residents in daily living activities, provide companionship, and help create a warm, safe environment where each resident can enjoy their day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents with meals, drinks and personal care according to individual care plans.
• Spend one‑to‑one time with residents, offering emotional support and encouraging social interaction.
• Maintain accurate records of care activities and report any changes in residents' condition.
• Ensure the care home environment is clean, safe and welcoming.
• Work collaboratively with the wider care team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Required profile

• Previous experience caring for older adults, preferably in a residential setting.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient‑focused attitude.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including alternate weekends.
• Commitment to delivering the highest standards of care.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures in a care environment.
• Ability to follow written care plans and documentation protocols.
