Part-Time Dance & Movement Instructor (Winter 2027)

About the role

This part‑time academic position involves teaching and assessing THEA 2822.03: Dance & Movement 2b during the Winter term (January 1 – April 30 2027). The course supports Honours BA Theatre acting students in developing movement technique, body alignment, and expressive skills for professional theatre.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver studio‑based instruction covering a range of movement disciplines.
• Design and implement a Method of Assessment in consultation with full‑time Acting Program faculty.
• Prepare, grade, and record all assignments and final marks within required timelines.
• Collaborate with full‑time faculty and report to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Required profile

• BA or equivalent preferred; substantial experience in movement for actors.
• Proven ability to teach students with varied dance backgrounds and levels of musicality.
• Post‑secondary teaching experience with evidence of strong effectiveness.
• Capability to deliver diverse dance forms (e.g., creative movement, ballet, jazz, historical dance, gesture work).
