Part-time ESOL Lecturer (0.5 FTE)

About the role

Blackburn College is seeking a part‑time Lecturer (0.5 FTE) to deliver English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses to a diverse range of learners. You will teach both full‑time and part‑time students across multiple settings, including on‑site, workplace and vocational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess ESOL lessons for learners at all proficiency levels.
• Provide instruction to international learners, commercial groups, Job Centre Plus participants, NEET students and other external agency cohorts.
• Adapt teaching methods for off‑site, workplace and vocational contexts.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and assessment outcomes.

Required profile

• Recognised Level 5 teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.
• Level 5 subject specialist qualification in ESOL or willingness to work towards it.
• Proven experience teaching in a further‑education environment.
• Demonstrated experience delivering ESOL in varied settings such as commercial, Job Centre Plus or NEET programmes.
