Part Time HR Officer

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Part‑time HR Officer to lead the full spectrum of HR activities for our client in St Albans. Working 30 hours per week on‑site, you will act as the single point of contact for recruitment, employee relations and HR administration, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, from job advertising and sourcing to onboarding and employment documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records, oversee HRIS data, and process attendance and leave requests.
• Ensure consistent application of company policies and monitor compliance with employment law and GDPR.
• Coordinate the performance management cycle, track objectives and support managers with documentation.
• Oversee training records, organise development programmes and support learning initiatives.
• Provide first‑line HR advice and handle complex employee‑relations matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR management, preferably in a stand‑alone capacity.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment processes, employment legislation and GDPR.
• Excellent organisational abilities and capacity to juggle multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self‑motivated attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
