Part-Time Payroll Administrator

About the role

A well‑established accountancy practice in Wilmslow is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator on a part‑time basis. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will help process multiple client payrolls, ensuring accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance with legislation. The role offers flexible hours within a supportive, collaborative team.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payrolls for up to 80 employees per payroll.
• Process new starters, leavers, statutory payments, sickness, timesheets and payroll amendments.
• Carry out National Minimum Wage checks.
• Assist with onboarding new payroll clients.
• Respond to payroll queries via telephone, email and in person.
• Complete monthly pension uploads and reconcile pension contributions.
• Ensure compliance with Pension Regulator requirements.
• Maintain GDPR compliance and payroll accuracy.
• Support the Payroll Manager in the smooth running of the payroll function.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years' payroll experience.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of PAYE, pensions and GDPR legislation.
• Experience processing payroll from start to finish.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills with a proactive, customer‑focused approach.
