Part time Payroll Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our friendly accountancy practice on a part‑time basis. You will manage payroll for a varied client portfolio and ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll for a portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
• Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll runs accurately and on time.
• Handle workplace pension submissions and auto‑enrolment requirements.
• Process CIS deductions and related submissions where required.
• Liaise directly with clients and respond to payroll‑related queries.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with current payroll legislation.
• Support the continued growth and development of the payroll service offering.

Required profile

• Previous payroll experience, preferably within an accountancy practice.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation and procedures.
• Experience with salary sacrifice schemes, CIS payroll, workplace pensions and auto‑enrolment.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Sage Payroll software (preferred).
