Part-Time SENCO – 3 Days per Week in Blackburn

About the role

A highly regarded primary school in Blackburn is seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to work three flexible days per week from September 2026. This part‑time position will lead the school's SEND provision, ensuring high‑quality support for pupils with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead SEND provision across the school
• Oversee EHCP applications, reviews and compliance
• Support and advise teaching staff on effective SEN strategies
• Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals
• Monitor pupil progress and the impact of interventions
• Contribute to whole‑school inclusion and development plans

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with SENCO experience or NASENCO qualification (or working towards)
• Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
• Primary school experience essential
• Passionate about inclusion and pupil progress
• Strong leadership, organisation and communication skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND legislation and EHCP processes
• Ability to develop and implement SEN strategies
