Part-Time Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Part‑Time Tax Manager to join Brewer Morris on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role focuses on assessing and strengthening tax processes, controls and governance across corporate, indirect and employment tax areas.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct an “as‑is” assessment of tax processes, documentation and controls for corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax and employment taxes (including PSA and IR35).
• Review the end‑to‑end tax compliance and reporting cycle, identifying gaps, risks and inefficiencies.
• Develop practical recommendations and a detailed implementation plan to improve tax governance, data quality and SAO processes.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, commercial, HR, procurement and external advisers to agree priorities and drive delivery.
• Manage a prioritized delivery schedule, ensuring milestones are met within the fixed‑term period.
• Create the structure, documentation and stakeholder alignment needed for sustainable ownership of improved tax processes after the contract ends.

Required profile

• Available to start in August/September.
• Comfortable working three days a week in a hybrid setting.
• Proven experience in tax compliance, governance and process improvement.
• Ability to build strong relationships across finance, legal and commercial functions.
