Part-Time Teacher of Music

About the role

We are seeking a Part‑Time Teacher of Music to join the senior school at Claremont. Working under the direction of the Head of Creative Faculty, you will deliver music curriculum up to A‑Level and contribute to the department’s development. This role is 0.35 FTE and based on‑site at the school.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the music curriculum as outlined by the Head of Faculty, including A‑Level teaching.
• Contribute to curriculum review, development and co‑curricular events.
• Organise resources, trips and visits for student groups.
• Maintain high teaching standards and ensure excellent student progress.
• Complete student assessments, marking homework, coursework and exams.
• Participate in INSET, mandatory training and staff meetings.
• Undertake pastoral duties such as parents’ evenings, assemblies and support form tutoring.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Relevant degree in music or related subject.
• Strong technical knowledge of music teaching and a proactive approach to professional development.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively.
• Well‑organised with the ability to prioritise tasks.
