Part-Time Teaching Assistant – Autism & ADHD Support

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate part‑time Teaching Assistant to support secondary‑school students with Autism and ADHD on the Wirral. Working alongside the SENCO and classroom teachers, you will help create an inclusive learning environment during term time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils with Autism and ADHD.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Support students with emotional regulation, focus, and classroom participation.
• Implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and learning.
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and the SEN team to monitor progress.
• Contribute to a nurturing classroom atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting students with Autism and/or ADHD (essential).
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
• Willingness to obtain a valid enhanced DBS.
• Experience in a secondary‑school setting (preferred but not essential).
