Part-Time Teaching Assistant (TA2) – KS1

About the role
We are seeking a Part‑Time Teaching Assistant (TA2) to support a Key Stage 1 classroom in a welcoming primary school in Blackburn. The role starts in September 2026 and runs on Thursdays and Fridays during term time.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Provide small‑group interventions and targeted support for pupils.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to access the curriculum.
- Encourage positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
- Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
Required profile
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in a primary school setting.
- Experience supporting children with SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, nurturing and flexible attitude.
