About the role

Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Hemel Hempstead for a Year 1 Teacher starting in September 2026. The role is focused on delivering high‑quality, inclusive lessons to young learners and supporting their overall wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
• Create a positive, safe classroom environment where every child can thrive.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and targeted support.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and the wider school community to enhance learning experiences.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, including placements for early‑career teachers.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for every child.
• Positive, proactive and flexible approach to teaching.
