About the role
Farrer Barnes Limited is seeking a part‑time Assistant Accountant to join its supportive finance team in Chatham. This role offers the chance to become a key contributor to the finance function while enjoying flexible working arrangements.
Key responsibilities
- Process invoices and support purchase and sales ledger activities.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month‑end closing processes.
- Prepare journals and maintain accurate financial records.
- Handle finance queries and support internal stakeholders.
- Provide general assistance across the finance function.
Required profile
- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant.
- Strong transactional finance background.
- Good understanding of reconciliations and month‑end processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
Required skills
- Hands‑on approach to finance tasks.
- Proficiency with standard accounting procedures.
What we offer
- Salary circa £35,000 pro‑rata for 30 hours per week.
- Hybrid working with 1–2 days remote.
