Part‑time Bookkeeper for Arts Retailer

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous part‑time Bookkeeper to support a specialist art retailer in Central London. Working three days a week, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records and help keep the finance function running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales invoices from the in‑house system into Sage accounting software.
• Enter, maintain and reconcile purchase invoices.
• Prepare and execute bi‑weekly supplier payment runs.
• Reconcile credit‑card and online payment receipts.
• Manage company credit‑card transactions and employee expense claims.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers.
• Monitor customer balances and assist with credit‑control activities.
• Reconcile bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
• Handle petty‑cash transactions and reconcile them.
• Support month‑end procedures, reconciliations and management accounts alongside the Financial Controller.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Effective communication and a collaborative approach.
• Availability for part‑time work (three days per week).
