Part‑time Cleaner – 12.5 hrs/week

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and self‑motivated cleaner to join our team at Mayott House in Abingdon. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for residents on a part‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and maintain communal areas, lounges, dining spaces and guest rooms to a high standard.
• Ensure all areas are tidy, free from hazards and comply with health and safety standards.
• Use cleaning products safely in line with COSHH regulations.
• Monitor and order cleaning supplies, keeping accurate stock records.
• Carry out routine health and safety checks and record findings.
• Report repairs and any health‑and‑safety concerns promptly.
• Plan daily tasks taking residents’ needs into account.

Required profile

• Positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative.
• Understanding of the needs of older people.
• Approachable, helpful and professional demeanor.
• Calm under pressure.
• Previous cleaning experience desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of COSHH safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to conduct health and safety checks.
• Experience with stock management of cleaning supplies.

What we offer

• Permanent part‑time contract – 12.5 hours per week (Monday‑Friday, 2.5 hrs per day).
• Pro‑rated salary of £8,742.50 per year.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
