Part‑time Cook – Residential Care Home

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated part‑time Cook to join our team at Gilby House Nursing Home, providing nutritious meals for 22 residents with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will work within a supportive environment, ensuring high‑quality food service that respects each resident’s dietary requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare meals, snacks and beverages in line with residents’ dietary requirements.
• Conduct quality checks on prepared food and storage conditions.
• Plan menus that reflect residents’ preferences and nutritional needs.
• Assist with food service to ensure a dignified dining experience.
• Maintain stock records, order supplies and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Keep the kitchen clean and support deep‑cleaning tasks.

Required profile

• Patient, understanding and respectful attitude towards residents.
• Experience as a Cook; a Food Hygiene or Catering qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Willingness to undertake training provided by Prime Life.
