Part‑time Domestic Assistant – Edinburgh

About the role

Thistle Foundation is seeking two part‑time Domestic Assistants to join the team at its Centre of Wellbeing in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. The role involves maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Open, lock up and set the alarm for the Centre of Wellbeing.
• Buff floors on the ground floor using small floor buffers.
• Clean offices, conference rooms, training spaces and kitchen facilities daily.
• Dust, polish surfaces, vacuum carpets and clean toilets and wash hand basins.
• Empty recycling and rubbish bins, wash doors, skirtings, woodwork and radiators.
• Report faulty equipment and follow health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Cover for team members during absences and attend supervision, appraisals and training sessions.
• Undertake any additional duties assigned by the Facilities Manager or Coordinator.

Required profile

• Previous cleaning experience, preferably with small floor buffers.
• Excellent customer service and professional attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable time‑management and attendance.
• Understanding and empathy for Thistle Foundation’s mission and values.
