Part‑time Employee Relations Specialist (28 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Employee Relations Specialist to lead the ER function for a West Midlands manufacturing business of just under 500 staff. Working 28 hours per week on a permanent basis, you will enjoy hybrid working and flexible scheduling to suit personal commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all employee relations cases, including absence, performance, disciplinaries and grievances.
• Provide coaching and guidance to line managers during meetings and investigations.
• Act as the escalation point for complex ER issues and serve as the subject‑matter expert across the business.
• Review and improve ER processes, identifying pain points and implementing efficient solutions.
• Collaborate with a small HR team of six to ensure the ER function is fit for purpose.
• Leverage any health‑and‑safety case experience where relevant.

Required profile

• Proven experience in employee relations, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to handle a full ER lifecycle for a workforce of ~500 employees.
• Strong analytical mindset to assess processes and recommend improvements.
• Excellent communication skills for coaching managers and handling escalations.
