Part‑time Ferry Officer – Mersey Ferries

About the role

Mersey Ferries is expanding its Marine Team with a new vessel, the Roal Daffodil. The role involves loading and unloading passengers, ensuring safe berthing and disembarkation, and supporting vessel crews across our terminals and on board.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload passengers at Liverpool Pier Head, Seacombe and Woodside terminals.
• Assist with safe vessel berthing, docking and passenger disembarkation.
• Provide operational resilience and support to existing vessel crews.
• Follow flexible shift patterns across terminals and on the vessel.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures in an operational marine environment.

Required profile

• Professional personal presentation and a friendly, outgoing demeanor.
• Experience in face‑to‑face customer service.
• Health and safety experience in an operational role.
• Strong communication skills, calm under pressure and reliable.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and maintain a professional appearance.

• Permanent part‑time contract (17.5 hours per week).
• Salary £25,477 – £26,157 pro‑rata per year, plus Conditions Allowance and Weekend Enhancement.
