Part‑Time Finance Officer – 24 hrs/week

About the role

This part‑time Finance Officer role supports a public sector organisation’s finance team, handling day‑to‑day transactional accounting tasks. The position is office‑based in Weston‑super‑Mare and offers flexible scheduling across 24 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Answer telephone and email queries on a daily basis.
• Maintain the purchase ledger system.
• Ensure all income is receipted, cash sheets are banked and processed weekly.
• Manage petty cash and reconcile reimbursement requests.
• Maintain the sales ledger.
• Carry out credit control procedures as required.
• Assist finance management with year‑end accounts preparation.

Required profile

• Experience in transactional accounting or finance administration.
• Ability to handle routine enquiries via phone and email.
• Familiarity with purchase and sales ledger processes.
• Basic understanding of credit control and year‑end accounting tasks.
