About the role
This part‑time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) position supports the Nursery class at a primary school in Lancaster. The role starts in September 2026 and is term‑time only, covering Thursday afternoons and a full day on Fridays.
Key responsibilities
- Work closely with the Nursery team to deliver high‑quality learning experiences.
- Lead small‑group activities and support planned curriculum sessions.
- Cover lessons when required and contribute to children’s progress and wellbeing.
- Help create a nurturing, inclusive environment for early years learners.
Required profile
- HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience.
- Previous experience in an Early Years or Primary setting.
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, proactive and flexible approach with a passion for child development.
