Part‑Time Housekeeper – East Sussex Estate

About the role

We are seeking a reliable, friendly and hardworking housekeeper to join a small, dedicated team on a private country estate in East Sussex. Working Monday to Friday, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the home and its outbuildings.

Key responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, mop floors and dust/polish furniture, woodwork and decorative items.
• Clean and sanitise kitchens, bathrooms and other living areas using approved products.
• Tidy bedrooms, living spaces and wardrobes, changing bed linen and towels regularly.
• Report any maintenance issues or damaged items to the Head Housekeeper.
• Launder and iron clothing, household linen and bedding, respecting specific fabric requirements.
• Maintain wardrobes and linen cupboards, including pest‑prevention measures.
• Assist the wider household team with reasonable duties as needed.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping experience in a private household or similar environment.
• Organised, reliable and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in high standards.
• Trustworthy, discreet and respectful of household privacy.
• Flexible, positive attitude and willingness to help with a variety of tasks.

Required skills

• Basic sewing or clothing repair (desirable).
• Experience caring for household dogs (desirable).

What we offer

• Competitive hourly rate of £18‑20 gross.
• Part‑time schedule (9:30 am‑1:30 pm, Monday‑Friday).
