Part‑time Humanities Teacher (History & Geography)

About the role
We are looking for a passionate Humanities Teacher to join a mainstream secondary school that specialises in supporting neurodivergent learners aged 7‑19. The role is part‑time, covering two days per week (Monday and Wednesday) and starts in September 2026.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in History and Geography.
- Teach primarily at Key Stage 3, with occasional responsibilities for Key Stages 2 and 4.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs, including neurodivergent students.
- Support students’ academic, social and emotional development.
- Contribute to curriculum development and stay up‑to‑date with curriculum changes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and manage teaching assistants effectively.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge in History, Geography and/or RE.
- Confidence teaching across key stages, particularly KS3.
- Commitment to inclusive education and strong behaviour management skills.
- Desirable: experience teaching GCSE, supporting neurodivergent learners, knowledge of autism‑friendly approaches, and willingness to work with KS2.
