Part‑time Interim Financial Controller (3 days/week)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Interim Financial Controller to join a fast‑growing energy‑efficiency group. The role is based in Poole and will work three days a week (Tuesday‑Thursday) for an initial four‑month period, reporting to the Finance Director.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the finances of an SME with a turnover of around £10 million, including deep‑dive monthly management accounts.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and perform balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Post journal entries and maintain a hands‑on approach to day‑to‑day accounting.
• Support the Finance Coordinator and provide weekly updates to the Finance Director.
• Coach and develop finance team members and liaise with the Sales Director to understand the business model.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (preferred).
• Professional attitude with experience in SME environments, investigating discrepancies and improving systems.
• Strong collaborative and communication skills, able to work with non‑financial colleagues.
• Proven experience in coaching or mentoring finance staff.

Required skills

• Sage 50 accounting software.

What we offer

• Day rate of £400‑£450 (umbrella rate).
• Part‑time schedule (3 days per week) on‑site in Poole.
