Part‑time Music Teacher (0.2 FTE) – Independent School

About the role

We are partnering with a highly regarded independent school in Lewisham to appoint a passionate Music Teacher on a 0.2 FTE permanent basis, starting in September. The role offers the chance to inspire Key Stage 3 and 4 students through a diverse and engaging music curriculum within a supportive, academically successful environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver music lessons for Key Stages 3 and 4, covering theory, performance and appreciation of varied musical styles.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to foster musical development.
• Contribute to the school’s creative and performing arts culture, including participation in school concerts and events.
• Support and, where appropriate, lead extracurricular music activities such as ensembles, choirs or clubs.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Proven experience teaching Music in a UK secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for music education.
• Ability to deliver inclusive, engaging lessons and maintain high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
