Part‑Time Year 1 Class Teacher – Berkhamsted

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑regarded primary school in Berkhamsted to recruit a part‑time Year 1 Class Teacher. The successful candidate will join a collaborative community that values pupil wellbeing, achievement and personal development, creating engaging learning experiences for young learners.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching across the Year 1 curriculum.
• Plan creative and engaging lessons that inspire pupils.
• Establish a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom.
• Identify and respond effectively to individual learning needs.
• Assess and track pupil progress.
• Provide appropriate challenge and support.
• Work closely with colleagues and support staff.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Previous Key Stage 1 teaching experience; Year 1 experience highly desirable.
• Excellent classroom management and planning abilities.
• A child‑centred approach to teaching.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Genuine commitment to supporting young learners.
• Ability to commute to Berkhamsted.
