Pastoral Care Assistant

About the role

The Pastoral Care Assistant will support young people with complex emotional, behavioural and autism spectrum needs at Luxborough Court School. Working closely with families and clinical teams, you will help create a safe, nurturing environment where each pupil can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Assess individual emotional and behavioural needs and develop personalised pastoral plans.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and group support to pupils with ASD, BESD or SEMH.
• Collaborate with families, teachers and in‑house clinical staff to ensure consistent care.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and record‑keeping.
• Support the wider school community by contributing to a positive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting young people with autism or complex emotional needs in a school or care setting.
• Strong listening skills and the ability to motivate and inspire pupils.
• Excellent teamwork, flexibility and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of pastoral care.
