Pastoral Mentor – Behaviour Focus (Secondary)

About the role
Long Term Futures is seeking a resilient and compassionate Pastoral Mentor to join a supportive secondary school in Westminster. The role focuses on improving behaviour, attendance, engagement and emotional wellbeing for students in Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities
- Provide targeted pastoral and behavioural support to KS3 and KS4 students.
- Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group interventions on behaviour, emotional regulation and personal development.
- Support pupils with SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism and other additional learning or behavioural needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to implement effective behaviour‑management strategies.
- Respond calmly to challenging behaviour using restorative and de‑escalation techniques.
- Monitor and record student behaviour, attendance and wellbeing, reporting to pastoral leaders.
- Liaise with parents, external agencies and school staff to ensure consistent support.
- Promote resilience, self‑confidence and positive decision‑making.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Mentor, Behaviour Support Assistant, Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker or similar role.
- Experience working with secondary‑aged students is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management and restorative practices.
