Pastoral Support Professional – Sheffield

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a compassionate Pastoral Support professional to join a supportive and inclusive school in Sheffield (postcode S5) from September 2026. The role focuses on promoting student wellbeing, improving attendance, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and small‑group pastoral support to enhance emotional wellbeing, resilience and personal development.
• Support strategies that improve attendance, punctuality, behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Work proactively with pupils experiencing behavioural or emotional challenges, helping them develop positive coping strategies.
• Monitor and record student wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and pastoral outcomes, reporting regularly to staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, safeguarding teams, parents, carers and external agencies to deliver coordinated support.

Required profile

• Previous experience in pastoral, behaviour, mentoring, youth work, education or safeguarding roles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Calm, empathetic and resilient approach when supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education.
