PAT Tester – Field Based (North East England)

About the role

The PAT Tester will work field‑based across the North East, visiting tenanted properties to carry out portable appliance testing on a range of white goods supplied by Mears. You will ensure appliances are safe, record results accurately and provide clear photographic evidence of each test.

Key responsibilities

• Visit approximately 10 properties per day across the Northeast.
• Test white goods such as fridges, kettles, microwaves, irons, hoovers and washing machines using PAT equipment.
• Complete testing documentation on a PDA, recording appliance details, electrical readings and before/after photos.
• Report any failed items promptly to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Ensure appliances are not removed from properties; replacements are arranged by the supervisor.
• Work alone unless a two‑person visit is required.

Required profile

• Hold a PAT Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence.
• Trustworthy and able to communicate clearly with tenants and colleagues.
• Hardworking and willing to travel across the Northeast.
