Patent Litigation Solicitor

About the role

Join a leading UK law firm renowned for its Intellectual Property practice. As a Patent Litigation Solicitor you will work on high‑value, complex patent disputes, primarily in the technology and telecommunications sectors, and gain exposure to multi‑jurisdictional cases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of patent litigation matters under partner supervision.
• Assist on complex, high‑value UK and cross‑border patent disputes.
• Advise clients on contentious IP matters, focusing on technology and telecommunications.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, expert evidence and other court documents.
• Support advocacy preparation, hearings and trial strategy.
• Conduct legal and technical research on complex patent issues.
• Collaborate closely with clients, experts, counsel and overseas advisers.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor with 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience handling patent litigation matters in a recognised private practice.
• Strong academic background with excellent analytical and drafting abilities.
• Experience advising clients in technology, telecommunications or other innovative sectors (advantageous).
• STEM degree, particularly in Physics or Engineering (highly advantageous but not essential).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with a genuine interest in a long‑term patent litigation career.
