Patient Advisor – Front‑line Administrative Role

About the role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Patient Advisor to join the busy Administrative Team at Jedburgh Medical Practice. This front‑facing position is the first point of contact for patients and external agencies, ensuring they receive the right service promptly and professionally.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, assist and direct patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service.
- Handle telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries from patients, secondary care and external agencies.
- Book appointments for GPs, nurses, healthcare assistants and physiotherapists.
- Issue repeat prescriptions in line with practice guidelines.
- Manage correspondence, scan letters onto patient records and maintain accurate clinical data.
- Copy and scan health records in accordance with GDPR and support filing, storage and archiving procedures.
- Use clinical systems such as EMIS and Docman daily while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Required profile
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organised, able to work in a busy environment and follow established protocols.
- Confident using IT systems and committed to data protection.
- Team‑player who values confidentiality.
Required skills
- Experience with EMIS clinical system.
- Experience with Docman document management system.
