Patient Meals Supervisor

About the role

The Patient Meals Supervisor will lead the catering team at Ayrshire Central Hospital, ensuring safe, nutritious meals for over 650 patients daily and supporting staff and public catering services. This permanent position requires flexible coverage across all shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and direct kitchen staff, including scheduling rotas and covering leave.
• Process patient menu cards and coordinate therapeutic diet preparation.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and compliance with HACCP and environmental health regulations.
• Record and monitor food safety data, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Provide coverage for shifts between 7:30 am and 7:45 pm, including weekends as needed.

Required profile

• Availability to work a 7‑days‑on/7‑days‑off pattern, 18.99 hours per week (Friday‑Thursday 13:45‑19:45).
• Experience in hospital or large‑scale food service environments.
• Strong understanding of food safety and therapeutic diet requirements.
• Ability to lead a team in a caring, safe, and respectful manner.
