Pattern Cutter – Womenswear

About the role

As a Pattern Cutter you will translate design concepts into accurate, high‑quality patterns for Reiss’s womenswear collections, working closely with design, garment technology and sample teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create and develop patterns using draping and CAD, turning designer sketches into production‑ready patterns.
• Fit toiles, amend patterns throughout development and ensure they meet fit and aesthetic standards.
• Maintain and update Reiss block libraries to align with current style and quality goals.
• Produce layplans, calculate fabric consumption and verify accuracy of main‑range and petite patterns.
• Collaborate with the Print team to position prints correctly on patterns.
• Prepare pattern packages for in‑house machinists and external suppliers, supporting sample progression.
• Work with Garment Technologists, providing technical advice and attending fit sessions.
• Support day‑to‑day pattern room operations, managing workload and priorities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Pattern Cutter in a fashion environment, covering multiple product categories.
• Strong technical knowledge of pattern cutting and fabric construction.
• Ability to interpret designer sketches and develop commercially viable patterns.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.

Required skills

• Gerber CAD (or similar CAD system) for pattern development.
• Advanced CAD pattern development skills.
• Pattern cutting expertise.
