Payments Analyst – UK & International Payments

About the role

Sterling Williams is partnering with a leading FinTech/EMI institution to hire a Payments Analyst for their West End office. You will support day‑to‑day payment processing, FX booking, reporting and account reconciliation while delivering high‑quality service to clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process UK payments – BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments (incoming and outgoing)
• Handle international payments and SWIFT transactions (MT103, MT199) via SWIFT AllianceLite2
• Book FX transactions and monitor card payments
• Perform second‑checks and authorise manually entered or repaired payments
• Liaise with Relationship Managers and clients on rejected or exceptional items
• Respond to client queries regarding payments and accounts
• Assist Compliance with transaction monitoring and maintain documentation
• Conduct payment investigations and archive daily records
• Support treasury operations, reconciliation and counter‑party bank inquiries

Required profile

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Detail‑oriented, solutions‑focused and self‑motivated
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Experience with SWIFT AllianceLite2
