Payments Systems Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Payments Systems Manager to lead the strategic direction, operational performance and security of our card payment ecosystem across two retail brands and roughly 800 locations. The role will own the end‑to‑end payment infrastructure, act as the subject‑matter expert for fintech solutions and guide a small technical team to deliver resilient, compliant and commercially effective payment services.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the full payment card processing environment, ensuring high availability, performance and security.
• Manage payment terminals, switching hosts, gateways, acquiring and loyalty integrations, as well as mobile payment applications.
• Define, monitor and enforce SLAs, KPIs and contractual obligations with third‑party suppliers.
• Lead supplier performance reviews, incident escalations and service‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide third‑line technical support and act as senior escalation point for complex incidents.
• Maintain operational procedures, technical documentation and compliance with PCI DSS and P2PE standards.
• Drive payment‑related projects, coordinating internal stakeholders, suppliers and business teams, while managing risks, budgets and timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in card payment processing, fintech or related payment technologies.
• Strong understanding of PCI DSS and P2PE compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a technical team and manage vendor relationships.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with a commercial awareness of payment services.
