About the role

Join a friendly Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors practice in Gloucester as a Payroll & Accounts Assistant. You will work on a variety of payroll, tax and accounting tasks, supporting both clients and the internal team.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll for a range of clients and ensure accurate, timely submissions.
• Assist with personal and corporate tax work.
• Support the preparation of accounts for diverse clients.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and answer queries.
• Provide general accounting assistance to the wider team.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years UK experience within an accountancy practice.
• Good understanding of payroll, accounts processes and basic tax work.
• Organised, reliable and detail‑oriented.
• Comfortable communicating with clients and working collaboratively.
• Enjoys a varied role and is eager to continue learning.
