Payroll Administrator – End‑to‑End Payroll for Multiple Clients

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll Administrator to join a growing team that delivers end‑to‑end payroll services for a range of clients in the Carlisle area. The role offers a varied and challenging workload within an established firm.

Key responsibilities

• Process full end‑to‑end payroll for multiple client accounts.
• Deliver excellent service and maintain strong client relationships.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end returns, balancing and reporting.
• Perform manual calculations as required and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels and meet payroll deadlines.
• Work both independently and as part of a medium‑sized team.

Required profile

• Previous payroll experience, preferably across several clients or within a bureau.
• Keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to supervise in a manager’s absence.
• Positive, personable attitude and enjoyment of teamwork.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Familiarity with Star payroll software (not essential).
• Knowledge of UK tax legislation and statutory/legislative regulations.
