Payroll Administrator – Part‑time (24h/week)

About the role

We are looking for a part‑time Payroll Administrator to join a well‑established organisation in Exeter. Working on‑site, you will help ensure that the payroll function runs accurately and on time for all employees.

Key responsibilities

• Support the end‑to‑end payroll process across multiple business areas.
• Review and process timesheets, variable pay and payroll adjustments.
• Prepare payroll reports and meet strict deadlines.
• Process employee changes such as starters, leavers, deductions and amendments.
• Assist with HMRC submissions, pension administration and payroll compliance.
• Act as the main point of contact for employee payroll queries.
• Review expense claims and ensure payments follow company policy.
• Maintain accurate payroll records while upholding confidentiality and GDPR compliance.

Required profile

• Previous experience in payroll administration, preferably UK payroll.
• Strong understanding of payroll legislation, pensions and statutory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail with solid numerical and analytical abilities.
• Confident communicator able to build relationships at all levels.
• Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
