Payroll Assistant – Weston-super-Mare

About the role

Join a growing bureau payroll department in Weston‑super‑Mare and support a diverse client base with end‑to‑end payroll administration. This full‑time position offers a varied workload in a friendly, supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll end‑to‑end, meeting all deadlines.
• Maintain and update payroll data using payroll systems and internal databases.
• Administer statutory deductions such as PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and student loans.
• Handle payroll changes including new starters, leavers, salary adjustments and holiday calculations.
• Produce payroll reports and ensure compliance with HMRC legislation and pension auto‑enrolment.
• Resolve payroll queries and discrepancies for employees and clients promptly.
• Keep payroll records accurate, up‑to‑date and aligned with company procedures.
• Provide broader administrative support to the office as needed.

Required profile

• Previous payroll experience in a bureau setting.
• Comfortable working with multiple online payroll systems.
• Strong client‑relationship skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Attention to detail and commitment to compliance standards.
