Payroll Executive – Professional Services

About the role

The Payroll Executive will join a medium‑sized professional services firm in the North East, supporting a well‑structured accounting and finance department. You will be responsible for processing payrolls accurately and ensuring full compliance with UK regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process payrolls for a portfolio of clients within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain compliance with payroll legislation, tax and pension requirements.
• Handle payroll queries and provide clear resolutions to clients and employees.
• Keep payroll records up‑to‑date and ensure data integrity.
• Assist with payroll reporting and year‑end procedures.
• Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies as needed.
• Support implementation of payroll software updates and system enhancements.
• Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to ensure seamless operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within professional services.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills for client and team interaction.
