Payroll & Finance Administrator (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a Payroll & Finance Administrator to cover a 12‑month maternity leave on a part‑time, temporary basis. You will join a collaborative finance team in Plymouth, handling payroll for around 25 staff and supporting a range of finance activities for a subsidiary business. The role offers flexible hours and the chance to work with Xero Payroll, NetSuite and an upcoming Zoho migration.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for approximately 25 salaried and hourly employees.
• Maintain payroll records and resolve payroll‑related queries.
• Support pension administration and ensure payroll compliance.
• Perform bank reconciliations and supplier statement reconciliations.
• Assist the purchase ledger, including invoice processing and supplier payments.
• Prepare journals and maintain accurate financial records.
• Contribute to month‑end finance processes and general finance administration.
• Support a future payroll system migration to Zoho.

Required profile

• Previous experience processing payroll and handling finance administration.
• Ability to work independently within a small team.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proactive communication and ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
