Payroll Manager – Preston

About the role

As a Payroll Manager based in Preston, you’ll oversee the smooth running of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. The role supports the accounting and finance department by managing processes that keep the business functioning efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end payroll processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Ensure compliance with all payroll‑related regulations and legislation.
• Maintain payroll records and guarantee data accuracy.
• Collaborate with the accounting and finance team to reconcile payroll accounts.
• Address and resolve payroll‑related queries from employees.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports as required.
• Oversee payroll system updates and software integrations.
• Support year‑end payroll activities, including P60 and P11D submissions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing payroll processes within a business.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant legislation.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Good communication skills for liaising with employees and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office.
