Payroll Manager – Shared Services (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a high‑performing payroll team within a fast‑paced shared services environment. You will ensure accurate, compliant payroll delivery across multiple legal entities while influencing strategy and supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate a payroll team in a shared services setting
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of multiple payrolls
• Maintain compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Manage payroll projects, process improvements and system enhancements
• Oversee payroll reconciliations, audits and year‑end processes
• Coach and mentor team members to support their development
• Build strong relationships with internal HR, Finance and Operations stakeholders
• Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement across payroll operations
• Ensure payroll processes are scalable for future growth

Required profile

• Proven Payroll Manager experience in a large, high‑volume environment
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and multi‑entity payrolls
• Understanding of Benefits in Kind, salary‑sacrifice schemes and statutory payments
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management abilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Continuous‑improvement mindset
• ADP payroll experience is highly advantageous
