Payroll & Pensions Specialist – Remote (UK)

About the role

This is a permanent, full‑time opportunity for an experienced UK payroll professional to join a technology‑led business. Working remotely with occasional travel to London, you will manage a growing portfolio of client payrolls while supporting workplace pension services.

Key responsibilities

• Process 50‑60 client payrolls each month, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery.
• Handle statutory payments, HMRC submissions, year‑end processes and payroll legislation.
• Act as the primary contact for client and partner queries, resolving issues promptly.
• Administer workplace pensions, including enrolments, opt‑ins/outs, salary exchange arrangements and provider communications.
• Support new client onboarding, payroll set‑up and implementation meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers, accountants and payroll partners.
• Contribute to product improvements, testing, documentation and operational projects.
• Participate in client demonstrations and commercial opportunities as the business expands.

Required profile

• Strong independent experience processing UK payrolls.
• Background in a payroll bureau, outsourced provider or technology‑focused payroll environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client payrolls and competing priorities.
• Deep understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory payments and pensions.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving.
• Confident communicator who enjoys building client relationships.
• Ambitious, self‑motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote setting.

Required skills

• CIPP qualification (or working towards it).
