PDI Engineer – Powered Access Hire

About the role

We are looking for a PDI Engineer to join a leading powered‑access hire company in Tonbridge. You will develop your mechanical expertise by performing pre‑delivery inspections and functional tests on a range of access equipment before they are released to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out thorough visual and functional inspections of powered‑access machines, confirming that all components meet the required standards.
• Perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical testing to verify performance, safety and reliability.
• Document inspection results and report any non‑conformities to senior engineers.
• Assist with the preparation of equipment for delivery, ensuring paperwork and certification are complete.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous experience in a mechanical or related industry (e.g., HGV, agricultural, plant, vehicle or generator sectors).
• Willingness to learn and develop specialised powered‑access knowledge.
• Ability to work on‑site in Tonbridge and follow health & safety procedures.

Required skills

• Mechanical inspection of industrial equipment.
• Hydraulic system testing.
• Electrical system testing.
• Familiarity with powered‑access equipment.
