PE Teacher – Full‑Time Secondary School Role

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join a secondary school in Hertfordshire on a full‑time, long‑term basis. You will inspire pupils to adopt active, healthy lifestyles through engaging lessons and a variety of extracurricular sports activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess dynamic PE lessons for secondary students.
• Promote physical fitness, wellbeing and teamwork across the curriculum.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with other PE staff and the wider school team to enhance the sports programme.
• Lead and organise extracurricular clubs, teams and events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) certification.
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification; NQTs are welcome.
• Strong communication and classroom‑management abilities.
• Passion for physical education and student development.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and curriculum development for PE.
• Assessment of student performance in physical activities.
• Organisation of extracurricular sports and clubs.
